1 Kings. 19:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
So why the name still small voice. What is it? How does it feel?
Time for a history lesson!! Here we go!
During the reign of King Ahab, Queen Jezabel had 200 prophets of Baal that instigated the people of Israel to turn their hearts from God and worship Baal. Notice the word worship in bold....

Worship should be a strong pillar in our daily Christian walk with God. Because we live in a world of booming “entertainment”, church leaders have used and have been using the wrong kind of music to try to encourage teens and other age groups to fill their churches. God has called us to be separated from the world. The music that is played today as “worship music” is a prime example of what God doesn’t want us to do. He wants us to be different. Anyway, back to our story.
Much like the times we are living today, the prophets of Baal have instigated the world to turn their hearts away from God.
But Elijah challenged them to a contest.... These were the rules --- The god that sent fire from heaven to consume the sacrifice was the one true God.
Long story short, Elijah won, (obviously); but Jezebel, in chapter 19 of 1 Kings, tells Elijah that she is going to kill him because of what Elijah did to her prophets of Baal. (you know, um, he killed them)
After hearing the news, Elijah takes off fleeing. When he reaches Mt. Horeb, God asks Him a question, “What doest thou here, Elijah?” Elijah’s response is heartbreaking because this is the condition of our world right now. “I have been very jealous for the Lord God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”
During this conversation, Elijah was hiding in a cave in Mt Horeb. Then all of a sudden a great and strong wind hit the mountain, but God was not in the strong wind: and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire, but God was not in the fire. Finally after the fire came a still small voice and this time Elijah came out of the cave because God was in the still small voice.
But what is a still small voice? What does it mean?
It is a low whisper, a low, soft, sibilant voice or utterance, which can be heard only by those near at hand;
This is what we need as the body of Christ. The low, soft whisper of His presence in our lives.
And so, after much pondering and brainstorming, Sebastián and I (J.D. lol) decided to call our YouTube channel Silbo Apacible in Spanish or Still Small Voice in English because deep in our hearts we want to hear that low whisper and feel it working in our lives and yours!
You know what is more interesting and beautiful? God is not only a low whisperer; He is also like a “mighty wind”. Acts chapter 2 recounts the story of how the Holy Spirit came to the disciples in the upper room. And it came like a “rushing mighty wind”. Our God is so mysterious that He can move like a mighty wind, and like a still small voice. This is the wonder of our Lord.

Our upmost desire is to create music that brings that still small voice into your homes and hearts, and that you might feel His presence. We want to praise Him with our music, and we encourage you to praise Him as well.
